ISO 9001:2015 Implementation at the Mandakh University

In order to reach our Vision and Mission and aim to foster life-long learning, our top management issued a strategical decision in 2016 to implement Quality Management System  ISO 9001:2015 at the university. Within this goal, we started our work by preparing necessary documents to satisfy  the ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

Mandakh University has  gained the achievement of the ISO Certification for Quality Management and received a certificate of ISO 9001:2015 on December 25, 2017.

In the process of implementation of  Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015 at our university, we have reached the following achievements.

  • SWOT analysis is made every year;
  • The action to address risks and opportunity is planned in the annual work plan of the university;
  • The allocation or reallocation of responsibilities and authorities is carried out in a planned manner improving conformity of every process and eliminating work overlapping;
  • The needs and expectations of learners and other interested parties are determined and the measures addressed to them are planned and implemented;
  • The roles and responsibilities of the management have been identified and their leadership has been grown;
  • Every stage of process is able to be controlled and monitored by improving the legal-related  documents and its regular record of implementation;
  • The resource control and allocation are made in accordance with the standards;
  • The communication of external providers is implemented in accordance with the standards;
  • The method for handling complaints and appeals including receiving, tracking, acknowledging, performing initial assessment of  complaints and appeals has been improved;
  • All processes of the university have been evaluated and analyzed by the management in accordance with the ISO  standard requirements and decision from the management for improvement is reflected in the annual action plan to have continual improvement; and  
  • Quality Management System manual has been published for faculty and staff’s use. 

                                           The efficiency of ISO 9001:2015 implementation at the Mandakh University :

  • Increased the colleagues’ creative attitude and team work skills
  • Improved the time and work management
  • Increased  satisfaction of learners and interested parties
  • Increased staff’s positive attitude to any task and assignment
  • Enhanced the colleagues’ self-confidence
  • Increased staff’s trust that they can do more and  better  
  • Increased self-assessment ability
  • Increased staff’s  reporting skills considering their performed work with their planned work  
  • Increased staff’s positive attitude to see any tasks and assignments given by the management as their opportunity to develop themselves or challenge to deal with.
  • Widened participation of interested parties 


The Mandakh University organizes

Meeting on “Sharing experience to implement the Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2015 standards at the Mandakh University”


The meeting on “Sharing experience to implement the Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2015 standards  at the Mandakh University ” was held by the initiative of Mandakh University under the support of Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation (MNCEA),  on May 3, 2019.

The meeting was participated by over 40 monitoring and evaluation officers representing 28 universities and colleges.  From the meeting, the participants  have obtained the awareness and knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 standards of Quality Management System, at the same time they were informed, regarding preparation work required for ISO  introduction, its implementation process and importance.

At the opening of the meeting, Prof. G. Nanjid, President of Mandakh University  said that “The implementation of ISO 9001:2015 is more helpful for current organizations to plan their operation by ensuring its connectivity, management, monitoring and to stabilize and  improve the process, at the same time  it  becomes  an important operational leverage  that the colleagues of current organizations  can work together under the one particular goal for the strengthening and development of their organizations. Moreover, it brings more advantage to the organizations  as well as universities to accomplish and satisfy the international and national accreditation requirements”. She emphasized that “The main goal of higher education institutions is to prepare our future young students to be well-educated professionals. Therefore, we  have gathered here today to share  our experience on how we implemented  ISO 9001:2015 standards  at our university and exchange  opinions with you, our counterparts”.  

Mr. J.Ariunbold, Vice-President of MNCEA, Director of Office  emphasized in his speech that “The main input of higher educational institutions  is secondary school graduates. So, there is a certain need for  secondary schools to be accredited in order to prepare a good input for the higher education institutions”. He informed participants about latest activities carried out by MNCEA including published accreditation manuals and quality certification manuals translated from English into Mongolian as well as  an issued official document which recommends every educational institution must have internal quality service. He also expressed his appreciation to the management of Mandakh University for this beneficial meeting and handed the Quality Certification books to Prof. G. Nanjid. 

At the end of the meeting, all participants have been handed manuals on ISO 9001:2015 standards which were published based on Mandakh University’s experience to implement Quality Management System.
